The Road Ahead!

Posted by Val under Business News, Tips

By now customers are aware of the difficult times that our economy is facing and the need to cut expenses. Many companies are now focused on better understanding their customers and transferring that information to the people at the frontlines of their businesses.

The online service industry is heavily dependent on that frontline, which includes contractors, providers, sales associates, etc.

To be competitive in many industries, and to be able to create revenue, many online service companies are reducing their prices. At the same time, some companies are hiring online service providers who do not have a license, insurance, background checks, or additional skill requirements, to make up for those reduced prices.

So how are online service companies growing in the market place? Their front-line representation is made through partnerships with providers and contractors!

Here are a few tips:

  • Hire licensed providers and contractors
  • Perform background checks and screening services
  • Engage qualified and experienced prospects
  • Provide training to cover company business model and how to treat your customers
  • Charge no enrollment fees
  • Promote and market the service provider’s business
  • Introduce the service provider to your customers prior to the service call
  • Provide online forums for providers to learn while sharing their experiences

Here at ServiceLive we look forward to continuing to build the road ahead. In order to continue to succeed, we are focused on recruiting qualified providers, while assuring that our customers receive the best experiences.

A Homeowners Testimonial

Posted by Frank under Homeowner

Recently, I needed a new kitchen garbage disposal installed and decided to give ServiceLive a try. I registered and submitted my project and within a couple hours, I received a response from a service provider with a counterproposal, which I subsequently accepted. The service provider called me the next morning to schedule a date and time for the service call, and he was willing to come early in the morning to accommodate my work schedule.

He and his associate arrived as scheduled and were very professional, courteous and careful to keep the area clean. The disposal was replaced in no time and works perfectly. They also took time to answer all of my questions which I greatly appreciated.

Although I was very pleased with the overall experience, I had some difficulty navigating through the ServiceLive website. I was told that these issues are being resolved and the site will add changes to improve usability and performance.

ServiceLive is convenient, as you can request services in the comfort of your home over the internet. ServiceLive is a perfect tool for homeowners who need repairs or new installations.

Highly recommended

Holiday Lighting without the Hassle

Posted by Kirsten under Homeowner, Service Providers

Once every year the country lights up with color for Christmas. Almost everywhere you look, Christmas lights sparkle and brighten every door step, window, and Christmas tree. The multicolored glow of Christmas lights not only light up the cold winter landscape, they ignite the Christmas spirit within us all.

What a unique and fun tradition Christmas lights have become in our society. Bubble lights first dazzled little children in the late 1930’s, and electric Christmas light strings were first used on a tree in 1882. The movie Christmas Vacation set a new competitive standard in holiday lighting, and YouTube now lets us all see some amazing, brilliantly lit homes without leaving our computer screens.

There are so many options available today, including musical lights that create a holiday light show timed to Christmas carols, LED lights, candy canes for the walkway, fabulous carousels, illuminated nativity scenes and other figurines.

Get in the Holiday Spirit without any of the work. ServiceLive can help you install and remove holiday lights. Our pre-screened service professionals are waiting for the opportunity to assist you with your holiday spirit. Just enter your zip code and search under handyman or lawn & garden to see the professionals in your area, name your price and time, and get your home ready for the holidays!

Fire Hazard Mitigated

Posted by Dave under Homeowner, Service Providers

The clothes dryer was not drying our clothes effectively; naturally we assumed there was a problem with the dryer. After discussing the issue with a few friends at work, they suggested checking the dryer vent. The vent appeared to be dirty, but since it was a long vent going up through the wall and over my dining room to the exterior of my home, I had no way of properly cleaning it.

I was in a hurry to get this done as my dryer is a necessity and I wanted to avoid any potential risk of fire to my home. I needed professional help to thoroughly clean the vent. That is when I relied on ServiceLive.

I logged into Service Live at 8:06 PM CST and posted a handyman order to clean my dryer vent. The Service Order was picked up at 7 AM, I was contacted at 8 AM to schedule my appointment, and the handyman showed up at Noon. It was soon discovered that not only was my dryer vent dirty, but it was completely blocked. The handyman cleared the blockage and cleaned the entire vent. My dryer is now working great!

In less than 24 hours; a problem with the dryer surfaced, I posted an order, and my vent was cleaned. As many of you might not know, dryer vent fires are more common than chimney fires; the good news is that they can be avoided with proper maintenance. What started as an inconvenience ended as a potential disaster averted.

Thank you ServiceLive!
